I'm really just seeing this for the first time, I haven't watched Robot Wars properly since Extreme, maybe Series 5 and having seen mace and flail type weapons in the past, I had always said their biggest problem was a lack of weight behind the striking head and also a lack of power to bring any of that to bear. Watching this video proved to me that a flail weapon can not only be effective, it can also be extremely dangerous to the opposing robots and having Nuts 2 as a heavyweight meltybrain makes it even more effective than attaching the chains to a separate motor like on a full-body spinner. I'd love it if we could see more heavyweight meltybrains in the future, though the ones in other robot combat events in lower weight classes are also something to behold. Also I loved Rory's reaction when Dara told him they had beaten Carbide, he apparently believed less than anyone that they were capable of such damage and that on its own is a small victory.

I'm from the states, but I went to a summer camp at my museum teaching kids about robotics in the 2000s and every day at lunch they put on VHS recordings of Robot Wars. It's been my favorite version of robot combat shows ever since.

Not sure if this counts, but Razer first met the Cold Fusion team in the trials in the second wars, and made it further than they did.

I love the fact that the robots themselves don’t look very big when being viewed or spectated in the arena. Nothing special about them, right? *Wrong!* Robots can get preeetty large when compared to actual people! Take *Terrorhurtz* for instance, even if it’s not the biggest, their pneumatic battleaxe looks to be a full arm’s length long! And then there’s the rest of the robot…. Let that sink in.

Honestly, mad respect to Simon and his team for bringing King B back into the wars even though it was a bit of an old bot at this point. Always a pleasure to see the thing fight. May not have been the strongest but so characterful. It was also a nice breath of fresh air in the flipper and spinner copy/paste fest that the RW reboot kinda turned out to be.
